What is a Pump.fun token?
Pump.fun is a Solana-based launchpad that lets anyone create a meme coin in under a minute – no coding, no liquidity setup. Since launching in January 2024, the platform has generated almost 18 million tokens. Bloomberg called it "one of the biggest drivers of the explosive growth in memecoins and the attendant burst in activity on the Solana blockchain."
The PUMP token itself launched via a $1.3 billion ICO in July 2025 – $600 million raised in just 12 minutes through a public sale, plus $700 million in private rounds. The total supply is 1 trillion tokens. The platform now runs its own DEX, which has surpassed $210 million in TVL as of April 16, 2025.

On April 12, roughly 10 billion tokens – about 1% of total supply and 1.69% of the circulating float – are scheduled to enter the market. At current prices, the batch is worth around $18 million. On-chain data shows the number of holders has been climbing steadily, pointing to organic demand absorbing the new supply rather than a rush to exit.
